Here are four clips from this afternoon's storms,no editing done(i really need to experiment with this)lol

clip 1

the beginnings of a seedling, and it put down some rain for a little storm.

clip 2

the second storm and main event approaching from the south but it died out once it got here.

clip 3

was the back of the storm which re-invigorated once it got going and there was some back building behind the storm.

clip 4

a short clip with a CB back building behind the storm with thunder heard from the top.

While the videos are uploading i was quiet chuffed at how much visible lightning i managed to capture considering that the storm/s where mostly elevated,no CG's but plenty of intra-cloud(IC),it would of been a better show at night but i am not complaining

Wow mate looks like you and some other people got some good shows of lightning. It’s rare to see IC lightning in Florida (in fact, I haven’t seen one!) do you know why this is?

When will this end? It’s getting ridiculous up here now!

Easily the best Summer of my life for thunderstorms already - what a time to be alive.

Tuesday and Wednesday.

Nice vids mate. It really kicks off in clip 3 after about the 6 minute mark. Lots of lightning, thunder, (a cat miaowing and even a vocal performance of scatman ). You got much more lightning than I captured driving around in it all

My ex used to talk on my videos, and I too like silence. Maybe that's why she is my ex

You may not have to wait until Friday for storms. Quite widespread storms likely tomorrow. Warnings from the Met Office only highlight Scotland because in England and Wales the storms will be moving through quite quickly and so disruption will be minimal. Over Scotland where winds are slack the storms will be very slow moving and so a real risk of flooding, hence the warnings.

Fast moving storms are hard to chase but it is more likely you will get a storm at home/work if they are moving around. Storms are more likely in eastern areas during the afternoon and early evening.

So far all of the thunderstorms have passed to the east, west, north or south of me and I'm feeling very left out. It'll be just my luck to get hit hard the next 2 days when I need to get the horses out. They've been stuck in since Friday when Storm came up hopping lame and it seems he has a hoof abscess. His pal can't go out without him and he can't stay in without her, so both have had to stay in together and they're getting cabin fever. They'r'e exploding with energy so if I get close thunder when they're this strung out I can see my stables being destroyed... again...

I’m back again. Today’s storm was unreal. Probably the second/third best one this year. The storm had an incredible structure to it and there was constant CG lightning.

There was also a lot of positive CGs too, in the video below. I unfortunately didn’t get the bolt but I luckily caught the thunder from my window as I accidentally left my iPad recording.

If you have the sharpest eye, you can see the windows rattling from the thunder too.

Glad you are having a good time in Florida @zmstorm thank you for your reports too.

That shake in your above vid, is that camera shake as thunder rumbles or is that the pane of glass of window?? I zoomed in and stared at windows of houses over the way but couldn't see anything on them just the shake in the foreground lol

Really hoping today is a more widespread risk day and that a much larger spread of storms occurs. Lots of people missing out dan saf recently

Been raining steadily here with some heavy bursts, and I've also spotted some anvils towards the coastal area and also to the north, no thundery activity yet though.  Wonder if anything will happen later today

Footage of my chasing on Sunday around South and into West Yorkshire. Not the most successful day as the storms were very difficult to get ahead of, and when I did they kept dying out. Pulse storms are hard to chase, I need to remember that. Still, I saw more than if I had stayed at home.

No thunder/lightning yet but its a conveyor belt of convective heaven just to my North West/North. (Cowal Peninsula and Argyll hills)

Moving North East to the Arrochar Alps and beyond - wouldn’t fancy a walk on the mountains today as they are getting an absolute deluge.

Pictures taken one hour apart.

Lightning showing up in Northern Ireland within the last hour so hopefully only a matter of time for here and elsewhere.

Day 1 Convective Outlook

VALID 06:00 UTC Tue 06 Aug 2019 - 05:59 UTC Wed 07 Aug 2019

ISSUED 22:33 UTC Mon 05 Aug 2019

ISSUED BY: Dan

An upper low will migrate gradually eastwards across Northern Ireland and Scotland through Tuesday, the associated cold pool overspreading the British Isles and resulting in fairly steep mid-level lapse rates. Daytime heating of the moist low-level airmass (dewpoints 12-15C) will help yield widespread 500-700 J/kg CAPE, and locally in excess of 1,000 J/kg.

Numerous scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop fairly widely. Across England, Wales and the Republic of Ireland these will tend to be organised into distinct SW-NE lines along zones of low-level wind convergence, and so areas either side of these lines will have a relative minima in activity. The position of these lines will tend to drift gradually eastwards with each hour.

On the forward side of the upper low, the environment will be reasonably sheared, aiding cell organisation such that individual showers/storms may last some time and track a fair distance given the strong steering flow. This means that rainfall totals will generally not be too problematic from an individual shower/storm, but shower training over similar areas may occur - although as mentioned, as the shower lines drift slowly eastwards, this may also not be too much of an issue. An isolated supercell may be possible, and there could be some notably gusty winds around some of these showers/storms - an isolated tornado is also not ruled out. Hail up to 2.0cm in diameter will be possible from the best-organised cells. The short land track over SE England suggests very little showers will affect these areas.

With greater proximity to the upper low, the slack flow across Scotland, and to a certain extent Northern Ireland, will result in slower storm motion and a greater risk of localised flooding given prolonged downpours. One or two spout-type funnels / weak tornadoes may be possible where low-level vorticity gets stretched upwards by updrafts.

Lightning activity will generally decrease by mid-late evening as daytime heating subsides, but the risk (albeit lower) persists overnight in exposed western parts - particularly NW England.
