I was under that cell in the north west, constant thunder, very heavy rain but no lightning. It's just about gone over now heading north. Thunder grumbling on.

I can actually see the gap betweent the two cells. The southern cell has intensified.

Just had the second cell, torrential rain no thunder

I’ve got to be honest, although today is muggy, it doesn’t feel as if a storm is brewing... But I’ve just come outside and seen this brewing up to my east! ?️

I’d say it’s over the Chester area... So there’s still hope. :oldgood:

I am expecting things to gradually kick off further east in time as the trough now across western parts, and spawning thunderstorms, moves eastwards. I am not far from Glossop awaiting something to happen.

The new GFS really over does the rain can't understand why it has gone operational as it always seemed a bit iffy. The main downside is that making a weather judgement for the evening weather is very difficult. Local forecast contradicting the graphics again however I feel the graphics are probably going to right and everything storm wise to the north of us.

Cell erupted SW of Glossop now. Assume you'll easily see/hear it

Keeping an eye on the storm south of Lancaster, hoping it maintains and doesn't drift too far east.

Boom!  Big rumble that rolled across the fells for a good 10 seconds

A cell has developed near Knutsford,

How many storms have hit southern Scotland this year? It seems they have had a thundery last few weeks.

It’s been amazing so far this Summer - end of June was fantastic here and the last week has been just as good!

All the action up here today has been in the East of Scotland and South East Borders.

Closer to home quite a few lighting strikes reported to my North and North East throughout this afternoon.

Looking North to Cowal Peninsula and Argyll Hills.

Heard a few rumbles of thunder from the cell towards the North West. Signs of convection to the North and in the now clear slot to the South too.
