More intrigue and anticipation this morning - certainly the outlook is intriguing especially as its only the cusp of November!

Crossing my fingers for some early S**w up north and see the cooler trend continue!

S**w up north? Stew? I'd have thought so, it's the right season for it after all!

Hi fellow netweather folks!

David King has released his November forecast (link below) and it's an encouraging read for snow lovers, especially if you live in the north east. Just keep an eye out for an abundance of acorns then it's all about the wind direction on 11th November, apparently.

Another wet move in this extremely wet Autumn has drawn to a close with 109.4mm of rain in October on top of the 120.4mm in September giving a total of 229.8mm to the end of October

Not looking as snowy for the Scottish mountains next week.

Unsettled from Thursday but certainly not cold or snowy for the vast majority of the UK.

Perhaps the Atlantic has woken up this year.....

I don’t think there was any snow forecast next week way to early. cool and wet next week maybe some wintery showers for on hills of Scotland

Snow had been in the forecast for the Scottish ski centres since Wednesday.

This morning theres been a significant change to the amount of snow expected and to the number of snow days.

Been raining now for the last 24 hours. Forecast makes for grim reading, almost constant rain until Monday evening.

Dross.

Mild 11C

Overnight rain but now damp and cloudy and 10C.  No discernible breeze but pressure is 956mb!  Probably the reason I feel even more stiff and achy.

The latest monthly outlook from the BBC.  Currently not looking good for early winter with analogues supporting the long range models towards wet and mild conditions.  However, they include the caveat of a 25-30% chance of it remaining colder and drier for late November/early December.

Perhaps GavVideos will be correct after all.

I've gone for a mild wet winter.

What, you mean a strong probability for a mild/wet winter, but with a smaller probability of a colder one?  If I were a betting man I would go with a mild wet winter this year, but have a feeling it could be one of those that goes the other way.  However, I think that's unlikely at this stage but the end of November/early December could give us a clue as to where we might be heading!  Gavs Weather Vids posted an interesting video this afternoon with unusual weather patterns setting up in November with low pressure systems taking unusual tracks which 'could' be a sign of things to come later on, but it's very early days and may not come to anything.

Stick down the next 10 winters as mild and wet.

I'd wager you wont be far out.
