Yes, to me average summers in Northern England are quite chilly. But then I grew up in a warmer climate. To people who grew up in Northern England they're more used to cold summers of course. I mean 13 days this month failed to achieve a high of 18 degrees, and that's meant to be summer? LOL.

It looks probable that the max is 31.9 C here along with a Td of 21C just now=not pleasant but should make for an enjoyable evening outside

It depends where you used to live? The average Max at low level for June in south Yorkshire is 20.7 C, that is over the past 20-21 years at my site, about 40 ft above msl. It was about 19.5 C from 1942-1995 at RAF Finningley. My temperatures, prior to actually keeping a record, showed my avge Max in summer was about 0.5 C above RAF Finningley (Robin Hood Airport now)

That sounds pretty mild. I'm at 93m ASL so a bit cooler on average. My weather station has recorded an average max of 20°C between 17th-28th of this month (there were technical issues before that so no more data from earlier on).

Anyway today's stats here:

Max 29.3°C

Min 13.3°C

Quite a warm afternoon.

As per storm thread, beautiful mix of convective clouds this evening, Ac Floccus and Cu2 becoming high level Cb into Ac Cas with slight thunder as storm centre from SW tracked to SE with clearance marked with highly unusual dense Ci Mammatusm large drops rain for 7-10 mins just about dampened the road and paths, not measurable. Interesting end to the one day hot spell here with a max of 31.9 C and td 21+ C at that time, now 20.7 C and Td 17 C with a breeze, think it is from a W'ly point.
