Lightning now being picked up over SW England by the radar in addition to Wales. Don't think this will be a bust but it sure as hell took its time!

Just had a couple of very bright flashes through the window, amazing considering they are still some distance away.

I've just caught a flash of lightning while outside for a smoke. I was looking SE towards the IoW.

If this continues north I’m in for a treat. Looks pretty active.

Can I just say something,

In wendover, bucks I'm sitting in garden with my mrs watching lightning a long way away to the west?

Nothing on the NW radar?

What am I seeing and is this now moving in all directions? Extremely weird?

Not according to the BBC forecasts, they showed rain with storm clouds over Cornwall at 7pm 🤣. Other forecasts were around 9pm before recent Meto forecasts had things picking up at 11pm which looks to be correct now.

There is a low pressure forming to the west of the cells, it will head towards Bournemouth and deepen over the coming hours.

I'm looking out to sea from Portsmouth and this storm is absolutely mega. A flash every second. It's going to go bang big time over the Sussex coast soon!

Wow, absolutely rapid development over South Wales!

I did say initiation would be rapid! Once the trigger is met, CBs can go up in minutes.

I kid you not, cloud to cloud lightning strikes over Guildford, Surrey at the moment! Saw the first and thought I imagined it then just saw the whole sky light up!

Nothing on radars.
