More organised storm has crossed the channel. ATM I have rain with lightning off to the east and to the west

One distant rumble and a single brief shower was our severe storm last night. Big flop here but not unexpected.

Still a lot of Ac and AcCas in the sky with an active looking storm approaching the Eastbourne area. While it’s a shade cooler courtesy of the earlier storms, it’s still notably humid with clear signs of mid level instability

saw some lightning in the distance before I managed to get a couple hours kip. Hubby told me he heard thunder on/off over night but I didn't.

Headed out for a early walk at 6:30. Lovely and cool and no one around. Lovely bluey/grey thunderly looking clouds but no thunder. As soon as hit my area turned into a small thunderstorm, had around 5/6 strikes and some rain. very refreshing.

Kind of makes up for my bad night.

Managed to get a couple of hours sleep in the van.

Night didn’t really go to plan with significant instability appearing to be lost to the powerful storms which erupted to the east in the mid afternoon.

It really did try to get going overnight but struggled to find enough energy to do so.

However, I did see the small cell over Tonbridge explode into life at about 4am suddenly going quite berserk and developing a huge anvil as I watched from somewhere near Hayward’s Heath.

Have photos and video I’d like to share but they’re on my other phone. I’ll see if I can get them off there later.

Right I guess I’d better head off to work...

So strange... We've had constant booming thunder for hours now, despite it being sunny! It's really loud thunder, too! It has been going pretty much all night\!

Also, at around 03:41 last night, we had an extremely close CC lightning strike, that produced cannon-fire thunder.

I fell asleep last night so missed a possible distant lightning show from a cell that ran up the Peak District.

Looks like the eastern coast of England and Scotland will be best placed later on today. Forecast from Convective Weather:

I’ve got a storm rolling in from the south making it towards London, nice long rumbles. Just woke up, has this come from far away or has this been home grown?

Woke up at 3.50am to lots of distant rumbles and many, frequent flashes. Seemed to be coming from the east. The air was also noticeably cooler which was lovely. Just had a thundery shower at work in london. No visible lightning but lots of LOUD rumbles. So much nicer now with the air being lovely and cool. Hope it stays like this.

I’m loving this storm, have you seen any c-c’s or cg’s because I’m seeing quite a few different ones. This is making up for my bust last night!
