Storms and Convective Discussion - 25th June 2019 onwards

Recommended Posts

There's a fantastic MCS in central France and air masses look related to our Channel cluster. I feel that once those cells make it to our shore proper, things will begin to go bonkers and sferics will spit out all over the place.. new daughter cells developing as the night progresses. Just a guess/wish.

You wait a lifetime for a funnel cloud and then two come at once!

A few from last night, just South of Salisbury. Mostly intracloud stuff, but an impressive light show none the less.

Well that was a pretty awesome night. Although I cant help but feel slightly disappointed for not getting any SLR shots. And now I'm left wanting more and more ?. Anyway a very impressive light show w

Given earlier forecasts had those storms in the channel barely developing it wouldn't surprise me if there was plenty of storms later.

Forecasts also hardly went for anything over Eastern England on Tuesday night so this will be another nowcast situation.

Could be a bust, could surprise people, at least the channel is looking good at the moment.

It has been a slow mover for most of the afternoon, now heading into evening, it's slooooowly getting there.

Yes, there seems to be three clusters now.

Could be taking on supercellular characteristics. See if it turns right of the mean flow.

I’m heading to Worthing now, then go from there.  And if it’s a bust it’s a bust. If not, happy days

Cool.

I'm heading home (in worthing) will head to the beach maybe later, or Brighton, will keep an eye and a half on developments.

One furthest to the right looks to be veering off to the right slightly. Newcastle should perhaps take heed. Bet there’s some decent hail in that thing.

Got a close eye on that lot approaching the Eastbourne area. Looks to be pockets of new development around it towards the Brighton area now.

A senior forecaster on UKww put up a chart showing maximum convective gusts and it showed values of nearly 90mph as the cluster develops further over SE England...
