Fairly active little storm in Steyning, heavy rain and fresh air.

Also a short-lived very localised storm at around 3 - 3:30am.

Think that’s the one I drove back through. Fair amount of lightening. Temp definitely dropped soon after.

Morning all. Finally got a decent storm in the early hours of the morning. Woke up in panic realising I'd left the skylight open!

Looks like today could be Interesting too. Me and a few other aviation nerds at work have been having fun watching aircraft do all sorts of wired approaches to Heathrow this morning.

Yeah they are going all over the place! Plenty of new cells popping up on the south coast heading for London! BBC is showing thundery downpours during late afternoon/early evening as well now

Oh dear! Hope you got it closed in time!

It's been a great morning so far for lobdon, lovely and cool now after suffering that disgusting heat, and we currently have storm number 3 on approach from the south. Awesome you saw some action in the night too. I love a good nightime light show.

Ooooh, I do hope this continues all day/evening. That would be fantastic. Really loving the cooler wind/temps now too.

Yep, I’m enjoying this short but sharp little storm conveyor belt

The heavy rain overnight and throughout Saturday may well be thundery too I think but it just says heavy rain so far

Makes up for every single main event so far missing me. I'm loving this.

Absolutely gutted with the lack of any thunderstorms where I am.  The Convective outlook forecast, and many posted on here had my area (Glasgow) right in the high-risk, or severe zone for convective activity. As it transpired we didn't even get a drop of rain.  Has to be the worst experience I have encountered in my weather-watching career. I was so excited all morning and early afternoon at the possibility of experiencing a supercell--but I would have settled for even a brief display of fireworks.  To get absolutely nothing was a real kick to the gut.  I guess though its part-and parcel of having this hobby, I just couldn't believe that with those near astronomical CAPE values--for the UK--that nothing kicked off.  I don't expect atmospheric conditions to be like that again for a long while, I doubt we will get any convective activity for the remainder of the summer.

Fortunate to have a great view from my office window and been watching the storms roll by all morning. Quiet for the moment with some atmospheric skies. More storms incoming
