Just seen a couple of very distant flashes from the storm off to the east

As for tonight... well we’ll see but I’m not getting my hopes up

All a bit too far east for here but I’ll keep eyes peeled on any distant lightning.

Huge uptick in precip running through the channel covering east IOW in a straight line to France. Only took 30 mins. Something going on there

Yep I’m watching that too. Met office radar shows them developing further into the night and moving into the south of the uk

The storms west of Paris are moving in a NW/NNW direction...would expect arrival until we’ll into early hours anyway but if something can fire ahead then happy days.

Given the limited activity further west I’m not hopeful.

We do however have a window (in the SE of about 2-3 hours before the high instability retreats NE).

Quite gutted I missed the only storm this year when I was in Vegas. Feel like I'm well overdue!

That just came over and gave us a few nice claps of thunder and about 5 minutes of torrential rain - could hear the rain approaching as we sat outside which resulted in a rapid moving inside !

I’m currently near shoreham looking for food

Was a bit concerned the plume may have slipped past us to the east a lot sooner than anticipated, but I’m pretty sure that hasn’t happened and even google is still keen on storms in Godalming at 23:00

Wonder if the Bristol storm is a result of things cooling down like Tuesday and kicking off in later hours

According to the radar, I'm currently in the middle of a rain storm... pity it's not reaching the ground

Yh that shocked me, wasn’t expecting that to suddenly release a load of rain in 2 minutes. At least I’m getting some rain though
