I was under the yellow on the radar for quite a while but barely got any rain. The wind was crazy though. Easily 50mph plus

Seems to be evaporating before reaching the ground, there's lots of virga around and I've been under yellow for a good half an hour now but nothing

Give it a chance, it only seems to be gear up now, steady as she goes. Has nobody noticed that Scotland is already benefiting from the cold front?

The chance has gone for the area i highlighted.

Seen this happen on numerous occasions.

East and south east to benefit(locally)

I was waiting to see if the stuff forming over the IOW was just radar clutter but its been pretty persistent over the last few frames.

Just been out for a walk and there are Ac towers in that direction

Can see a large distant gust front out east and constant flashing but too far to make out any lightning.

Met Office still forecasting storms here at 2.00 am. Interesting

Can’t complain with today so far. Saw a lot of CGs (albeit distant ones), plus some great cloudscapes and a lovely sunset to top it all off. Have pics on my old phone which I’ve started using as a backup so hopefully can sort and post when there’s time.

Fingers crosses later on is a widespread event and lives up to expectations. Heading west a little now and getting some food before everything shuts. Not long to wait...

Good luck to all!

Noticing a lot of random sferics around that area but could they be false for the moment?

The channel stuff seems to be developing very quickly! First strike too.

Been happening all afternoon, there’s nothing above me that would be putting out lightning. I will say the sky has gone from clear blue to filled with Accas again.

If it turns electric, I’ll start to get excited - as it is, I’m not getting my hopes up. If anything I genuinely believe it’s game, set and match west or south west of the current stormage. I have not seen a single model break out storms after this initial batch. Notwithstanding that it’s still incredibly warm!

So is there expected to be another round of thunderstorms, I thought that the MCS was it for me?!

A strike west of Le Harvre too - definitely ignore the SW London one as that’s been on that chart for ages!

Majority of the fun going north, keeping to  the East of London up into eastern East Anglia. Doesn't look like much is going to happen more centrally, as yet.

I’m staying put. Can still see a couple of flashes over the channel. Not enough to warrant the camera at present. Sitting at 23.5 in the car.

You still at Firle about to head down there now to catch the next batch of stuff.

We just need these new cells to explode. The good thing is with these such high cloud bases you wont need to be that close to get a decent show.
