Anything likely to go off after sunset to the west of that line running from France through to East Sussex?

Well the cold front is pushing further east so maybe that could form something as it gets closer to the heat maybe!

There is a cell near to Cambridge which may just hit Spalding. Not the most electrically active so far but it could develop further.

Doesn't matter need the rain

A few rogue strikes appearing all over the uk west of the main action, we live in hope

I am hoping Biscay Bay and North West of France would lend a help in hand.

Some proper heavy convective rainfall now although sadly just from the anvil. A few more westerly strikes and hopefully it will come more overhead. Some nice rumbles but that’s it so far

Sigh. After one flash of lightning over my garden chair, that was it. Everything's east. A kind of Kent Clipper with extreme prejudice.

Hope to hear some good reports from you all over there. Meanwhile, I'll expire in the humid, muggy storm free zone of Reigate.

Snap! But I suppose I saw an awesome triple CG and have had a few rumbles so technically a storm day...disappointing though in the extreme (for the 4th or 5th time in the past several weeks).

Our only chance is that waving trough later this evening sends some of the storms our way - the lightning orientation currently suggests it may but not guarantees.

Can't believe things aren't firing off over the midlands, 30c+ air in place, cooler air from west pushing in and to add to that plenty of showers.. What more do we need!

The storms in the south east (Essex/Suffolk) look like being a coastal only affair at the moment. Should be some good views on the coast.

The Sheffield shield has exploded to cover the central spine of the UK. Is making up for letting one slip through the other night.

I wonder if there's a chance of things still firing further west. The MCS has a slight easterly motion to it so that's moving away except for very eastern counties. There are a few blips on the radar moving up from northern France now so hopefully they may produce something in a few hours.

Yes harsh,hard to believe.

Had a feeling though that once cooler air makes progress eastern England will benefit.

Once we missed out on nw storms earlier I was sceptical

Very very windy now but still no rain or T and L

It does have the feel of one of those situations where a close strike out of nowhere sends me through the roof...

That light stuff moving up through the west Midlands and into nw England is falling from very shallow mid level cloud. Out west from here it looks like the profile is stabilising, so I guess that's the chances over for this neck of the woods.

I kind of expected that storm that developed over north wales to be the first of many, apart from that that turned into a beast later in it's life there has been nothing. Just hoping that something can fire up in the next couple of hours but highly unlikley

Is Lincoln looking to get storms later tonight or is it game over?
