Rapid convection happening here, can actually see the towers rising without timelapsing!

View out southwest (first pic) then view to the east (second pic)

Any coastal residents west of the lightning over East Sussex is probably out of the game tonight.

What physical or pressure height does that equate to?

1013 is the norm for aircraft using FL

It's an absolute beaut - honestly it's heading east as per what they do just hope I can get in on the action but one things for sure Tyne and Wear / Northumberland is in for a pasting somewhere within the region.

Looks like the main storm to the North will past West of Newcastle and then off into the North Sea, anyone East of Edinburgh should see something from that group of cells

Gah, We have a mix of cloud, sun, humidity and 30C here right now. We could do with those Channel storms to clear the air.

Large system..  and I think thats a good point. Is it not supportive of massive convection throughout the whole of this line? Quite dangerous too, as it chucks out storm cells ahead and to the side of the cell line.

Well in theory that’s correct and it’s why I’m optimistic but it is how long it takes and to what degree.

Looking at the thread on Tuesday the sat is similar to about midnight.

Absolutely nothing happening here western Pennines..

Radar suggests we should get a crop from about 8pm, the question is whether they develop much.
