I will be chasing later, don't really want to drive further than 60-90 minutes away. I think this area should be my best bet of catching a severe storm.

Just to remind people of the important lesson learned on Tuesday: you don’t need nor necessarily want to be under these storms if they do intensify - the rain is always an issue even if it’s not particularly heavy, but the lightning and the winds could really be dangerous.

Storms that form could be huge, and hopefully clear slots will give some people a great view of the activity within some of the cells later - provided they mature to the point of breaking the cap.

It’s not always the best idea to chase the severe zone - a slight risk could work out a better place if you’re interested in observing.

If you like chaos and have replacement underwear then go for it but don’t say I didn’t warn you

Yes! Even in the states, a SLIGHT Risk can be far better than a MOD/HIGH

Here's the garbage that might keep records in tact...

Certainly doesn't feel stormy anymore in Worthing!

That's the problem for those further south has with the drier air and CAP  in place, the clouds want to shoot up higher but can't so just flatten out. Should be less of an issue further northwards as that cold front gets closer as the day goes on.

Yup. We shan't be getting anything other than rain on the coast.

Really hot and oppressive here now... And starting to cloud up... I get the feeling that one small unelectrified cell is heading straight at me!

EDIT: We have lift off along the southern part of the Marches. ?️:clapping:

Home now and ready to chase. Signs of instability over Belper. It is 33c here, hottest day since 1st July 2015 where I recorded 34c. Can I beat that record and then get a storm?

Shame it's just that bit too far North and East of us today by the looks of things! Guess I can't be too greedy though after Tues night....

Just drove over to Canvey Island (mostly to get a bit of air con - house is like an oven!)  but there’s a lovely sea breeze here and also some signs of instability off to the SW

I’m also on the moderate zone for tonight, so we’ll see...

From clear blue skies to this - should I be getting a bit excited?
