Certainly signs are good viewing north of  Norwich airport and building.

That a cell that appeared just off the North Norfolk coast near Blakeney.  I can see the top of the anvil from here - far off my my NNW.  It appears to have hit the cap and stopped, but it's producing ppn. ccording to radar.  Second cell developing to its southwest - still cumulus congestus at present.

Weather app not overly interested in storms tonight, giving a very small slot/chance for London. Going to be another intriguing evening and night.

I’ve got my fingers firmly crossed for something as so far this year I’ve managed to be on the edge of every storm event.

I love how painfully inaccurate my weather app is - tuesday night it showed absolutely nothing and I got stormaggedon

Quite interesting whats going on around Nantes. Do model forecasts take cap breaking into account over France? Just wondering if that's what's happening over there. Raining again here now in Poole. Surely this wasnt expected? Be interesting how this pans out going forward with more moisture in the air. Think those up noth are in for a hell of a ride!

Was predicted as possible shallow convection over southern areas before 3pm. Unlikely to be anything significant

Weather apps are a compete waste of time in situations like this, check the forecasts on here and watch the radar!

Wait a sec? Manchester in the firing line? Thought it was going to the East of the Pennines! I must admit we have agitated clouds here in Macclesfield, looks very like the states before supercells on a storm chase!

I felt lucky after the other night, but hadn't even entertained the idea of storms today. Forecast has strong wording, so stay safe if you do chase!

Mike.

This is currently the sky more or less above me at the moment... I’m only a pure amateur... But I’d say that it looks like things could be starting to destabilise.

PJB over on UKww has the SE, EA and CS England as the most active area later. I rate him as an exceptional storm forecaster and his forecast for 2 days ago was astonishingly accurate. Subtle changes in the mid and upper analyses seem to have shifted the focus more to the S and E.

Currently in Portchester at the moment, clouds have gone. Blue sky’s.

Not sure playing swing ball in this weather is good. Very very hot!

Not a cloud in the sky over Stoke on Trent (urgh) , bit of a breeze picking up though.

Was going to mow the lawn later this afternoon, but considering almost all the forecasts are putting us in the direct firing line now, looks like it'll have to wait (or at least I'm hoping it will ;D )

It kicked out a few sferics now, very isolated, clear blue sky everywhere else

Indeed, it was strange how it seemed to break the capping but nothing else followed.

I'm not sure it did break the cap - shallow convection has been modelled for a while, hence why these current showers appear to be dying out after reaching a certain height.
