Huge crack about 15 mins ago, woke me and my lad up, the missus is still asleep though, didn't flinch. That thing looks like it's still growing as well.

Really ramping up, some superb CG strikes in the distance. Winds are mental too.

This is amazing! Not seen and heard anything like this for well over a decade!

Just on a hill up the road from mine, it's dead still and so humid. I can see distant lightning to the W, SW & S and hear the faintest rumble. Wonderful stuff

I can see the entire line approaching this is amazing

Fabulous lightning every few seconds, shooting across the sky. Deep booms of thunder, one rather large crack not long ago.

Blimey that was a bostin' storm !

Rain wasn't torrential but the gardens had a good soaking

The lightning ......

Magnificent

Passed over now but the thunders still rolling in the distance

Looking at the lightning map I see the main part of the storm did the usual right turn Clyde over Stratford and went up the West Mids storm bypass between Coventry and Brum towards Leicester .

What is this madness? It’s powered right through the heart of Britain unleashing torrents of rain, strong winds and constant lightning! This is surely a night to remember, not for London though because I hardly got anything compared to people further west! Although there was a lot of lightning flickering towards reading which I could see which was cool. Let the great UK chickenpox outbreak continue!

Not seen this since I moved here ten years ago. Last time would be when I was a child in Birmingham during the 90s.

It’s ramped up again in Swindon, frequent lightning. Should be well visible from birdlip area on A417

Heads up N Essex, S Suffolk and who knows, maybe N Suffolk and S Norfolk too. It might not be much but a few crumbs are always welcome in the storm desert of East Anglia!

Yes I’m watching flashes light up the southern horizon. Breezier here as I’m high up.

It’ll  look even better when it closes in
