Not long since got in from work and my work clothes are wet threw,it seems like i have a fair few hours to wait up here but enjoying all the reports from down south

rapid developments in the past fifteen minutes or so,it was looking a dead duck in the SW,now look at it.

I know others have posted this link but this is a really good angle for the approaching cells from Northern France. Really good, flashes, quite frequent too.

Looks incredible - huge storm!

Still in Christchurch don’t know whether to head west to Taunton way or east to Brighton way!

I mean,, birdlip is a good spot.. especially the lookout over gloucester and chelt

Ok got a bit lost in a field. Strange - no idea if something will form nearby. Lots of flashes if I look directly up towards the clear patch of sky

Almost constant lightning to my south and now, just about, distant thunder.

The heat is unreal. Lawn has stayed completely dry.

Could be a long night.

Why is it odd? They just saw the storm in the channel which is moving N/ NE

Kicking off in Dorchester now and a shift in the IOW storm towards the west and Lymington/Christchurch direction?

Taunton looks like a good spot right now or at least just to the west of it.

Yep near constant flashes, it’s brilliant! As you say not overhead, so thunder is just a quiet near constant grumble in the distance, looks like the bottom of the cell may well come overhead

Appears to have fine berserk on radar across Exeter.

Here, there’s this weird unending whispering sound despite zero wind (can see leaves as still as a freeze-frame). Aircraft are only occasional in these parts, and I’m a long way from the nearest main road, so it’s not likely to be those.
