Why does this not surprise me ,  might stay up until 1200 just to see if anything happens ,   Maybe around 1.30am onwards perhaps is when things *might* go thundery  , but this is the storm diminisher North West, so its not a done deal

I do believe this region to be the worst for storms, especially further north in the region. My concern with tonight, is that the topography is initiating cells over north wales which lose their energy so fast when they hit lower elevations. A sign that storms will be fleeting in most places.. and hit and miss of course.

Crazy when you see stuff like that!

I remember watching the midlands anvil flashing on 27th May last year.. from 100 miles away!

I remember watching Bjork in Central London around that time and could see the cloud and the lightning regularly coming from it in a similar manner despite it being clear overhead.

Wow can anyone shed any light on why the storms further east in the channel have formed.  And are they elevated or surface based.

I know others have posted this link but this is a really good angle for the approaching cells from Northern France. Really good, flashes, quite frequent too.

Hope to be watching when the Spinnaker gets hit!

Frequent lightning visible to SW, S and SE of here (far-west Hants). Very orange with some clear forking structure.

Temp still in the 26s, almost unheard of here at 11 pm. Just mad indoors despite having had all windows shut and curtains drawn during the heat of the day.
