Wow, I can see the channel anvil flashing all the way from Guildford. Lots of dim flashes with the occasional big one.

Probably a good 50-60 miles south so that thing must be huge!

That will be what is being seen from Whitchurch then

Nope, definitely south facing towards the south coast. Can’t see anything to my east yet

Time period shortened further (from 6 down to 3 hours now) on the local forecast here for storms/thundery showers, may well just be reduced to good old fashioned showers.

SW really coming alive now together with Wales. Fresh strike off the Devon coast too!

Worth remembering what I mentioned earlier - in setups like this I’ve often found flashes get missed by blitzortung - I’ve read a number of places now observing lightning but not on the maps. Do be mindful of railways though lighting up the sky too.

Plenty of flashes to my north but very bizarre storms, no sound, no rain very very elevated

It’s heading north / north east...headed for south east U.K.

Hmm maybe. I’d say more central southern England but we will see!

Storm over Exeter kicking off now. Staying put in Bristol for a while longer I think before making tracks. Looking good for Portsmouth too.

I’m between Swindon and Birdlip

Can see the Welsh storms from Haresfield Beacon so recon you should see something from Birdlip if you end up going there. Happy hunting all
