Lightning now being picked up over SW England by the radar in addition to Wales. Don't think this will be a bust but it sure as hell took its time!

Just had a couple of very bright flashes through the window, amazing considering they are still some distance away.

I've just caught a flash of lightning while outside for a smoke. I was looking SE towards the IoW.

Not according to the BBC forecasts, they showed rain with storm clouds over Cornwall at 7pm . Other forecasts were around 9pm before recent Meto forecasts had things picking up at 11pm which looks to be correct now.

There is a low pressure forming to the west of the cells, it will head towards Bournemouth and deepen over the coming hours.

Wow, absolutely rapid development over South Wales!

I did say initiation would be rapid! Once the trigger is met, CBs can go up in minutes.
