Thank you for the updated weather forecast from Convective Weather. It's very kind of you to draw a big dotted line around Reigate in the South East. I'm touched by your desire to deliver stormy weather to my lightning-free zone!

To be frank I really don't think much will crop up in this area apart from some rain - which is needed anyway for our tumbleweed and cacti.

Trust me I’m the same. Keeping an eye on Portsmouth too. Knowing my luck it will go bang there & not here

Keep hope alive

Think you’re well placed - does the shelter have a lightning rod?

Ironic that as soon as I posted my concerns storms pop up over Northern France.

Did the weather gods hear me? lol

Not sure what this means in the grand scheme of things. Is this where the cap is being broken or is everything much further east then forecast?

There are no clouds in that area. Perhaps it is one of Blitzorgung's "mobile sferic markers..."

Cells in Northern France seem to be coming to life... looks like they're moving in a NE direction... Hopefully they'll survive the Channel adventure and say hello to us in the SE lol

I mean the entire East. It’s not gonna happen. Nada. Stop it!

Stop denying the inevitable!

Light show incoming in the SE

Heavy drizzle incoming for the SW

Ah ok didn’t check cloud cover, however the sferics in northern France are really kicking off

Some variations of fine outlined Altocumulus here - not quite castellanus but maybe a warning sign. We had loads of smoke in the air here from a huge fire at Lydd Military Range a few hours ago moving along the Kent/Sussex coast. Looks like central southern England could be in the zone judging by those Caen cells.

Am I right in saying it's starting to kick off a bit more East than expected?

Difficult to say. the Cherbourg cell was first to fire but there are cells beginning to fire west of the Channel Islands too by the looks of it. Hopefully the radar will explode to life over the coming hours!

It was a decent day in Florida today. Saw some bolts and heard some loud rumbles of thunder about an hour ago.

They are, too! Quickly. And could actually be heading towards my way! I do hope so. I am SO thunderstorm starved.

Errr not that I can see I wouldn’t even call it a shelter, I’d get soaked. I’d be more then happy if I can just see the storm then be in it - for photography purposes.

I don’t know if the lightning is legit or not, but there are clouds moving in along the south near there.
