hm well my prediction about the storm away from the main MCS seems to be growing more confident... one of the clusters is still heading to the safe east, what do you all think..

Still showing thunder for us on BBC And Netweather forecast but I thought we are too far east for anything?

Would anyone like to have a stab if I am likely to see anything here?

Thank you for your help

I'd be very surprised if anything happened there

Still clear and blue hete in Leeds however tonight looks like our best chance for Storms since Eurovision last year. The rest of summer had a habit of giving angry clouds that produced nothing.

Looking good still, here in Manchester. Baking hot and a little humid.

Quick question about capturing a few photos of lightning here. Is it best to catch the lightning looking South as the storm rolls in or as it moves away to the North? I've got a North facing vantage point to keep my camera on a tripod dry, should we get something.

Mike.

The problem here is that the air profile over eastern areas doesn’t particularly support the sustained storm parameters that you find in the west, so you might get small pulse storms, storms dying off on approach or just downgrading to light rain.

A storm approaching an area from afar isn’t a guarantee of it’s arrival. This is where detailed model guidance can help avoid disappointment - can’t guarentee it but the east is expected to remain generally storm-free

Keep dreaming. All electrical activity has died from that and cloud looks more rugged on sat 24 like it's dieing

Drop or two of rain here.... now horribly humid. Almost totally clouded over and dark to the east. Feels primed.

Anyone a bit concerned by the lack of action so far? Thought would have had more signs of activity by now and no signs of any instability in Dorset now. Very odd.
