Yep! Sunbathing on the beach currently, Bournemouth at its best, tis a waiting game now and probably won’t look at model data in any great depth now. Having dinner at Hot Rocks with a friend by the pier so well placed for later. Just need to resist the beer urge and keep an eye on radar from about 5/6pm onwards and hope things start popping about 20miles SSE of Portland!

Jealous   Much!.  Sunbathing on a beach.      im 80 mies from the nearest one   just going to melt here in my office.

It’s actually really quite humid down here, another thing with the beach here it’s sand isn’t white so gets absolutely roasting!!!! Struggling to resist the urge from the bar 30metres away.....

FWIW the bbc app has temps of 25 degrees at midnight in manchester with thunderstorms breaking out around 1-2am - thats a bit late when you are up for work at 5am!!

The temps look VERY high for midnight tho, wonder if that in itself might be a record?

Just because you are not in the zones doesn't mean you won't get a storm/get a nice lightning show.

Almost anywhere is primed for some action!

Anything can happen! I'm sure we all remember the stormagedon a few weeks ago that didn't exactly follow the model forecast, taking a sharp turn east.

I’ve just driven my unairconditioned car home from my unairconditioned office. My skin is on fire and we’re not allowed to wear shorts so my legs are a write-off.

In the purple zone....just! About time we had a decent storm round here. I'd Better go easy on the mojitos this afternoon: I don't drive ( lucky hubby likes a chase too) but I don't want to fall asleep and miss out! Currently 31°C, and still rising. I am melting.

I've to go and sit in the unairconditioned cab of a bus for 8 hours, I feel your pain.

Yeah, lets hope this stuff forecast shifts east to east of the IOW, then we'll get a nice lightning show at the very least

Not exactly surprised imo the potential was always there but the worst of it was always going to be further West. Good luck tonight everyone hoping i break my storm draught tonight

Just checking SAT 24, the latest Radar shows existing cloud developing further, looking like the very beginning!

This in the Plymouth area, I wonder if we'll get a repeat.. or indeed a reverse of what happened in 2017.. (where by there a few lightning strikes but once in the North there are 1000s)

A couple of things I will point out while doing some comparisons.. the Arome is already at the back of the race regarding developments. The showery activity coming out of France is a lot further West than what the UKV shows. Answers on a postcode!
