Distant thunder heard in Bromley about 30 seconds after its flash.  So I guess six miles away?

That’d be what we heard then

Another one - brighter flash!

Yup! Same here - bright flash and rumble. Good few miles away though.

In adition to the two websites just posted above you can also pick up and 'hear'  nearby sferics if you have a radio with am/mw bands. Proper old skool but still does the trick.

No thunder or lightning here in the Hastings area as yet but rain is now increasing in intensity.

My sister said she saw lightning walking back here; I missed it!

Of course you can also have your own lightning detector as I have.

Not much use unless it's fairly close though.

Gatwick is en-route holding. But currently clearing.  Seems clearer to the south of the extended centerline now according to one inbound.  Presumably something building NNE of Gatwick that they are flying through.
