Some stunning cloudscapes as that line of rain is about to pass through Hull. Some darker clouds in places but no thunder or lightning.

Well I suppose we can now add Scotland to the growing list of places better than the N Midlands for storms

Anyone on here see any action today?

I caught some lovely cloudscapes as the front passed over

Yep really good storms here today.

No strikes quite as near as this one from 2017 as it struck a transformer a couple of hundred yards from the house

Okay, this is very odd, im sure I heard distant thunder 2 or 3 times, but there's nothing showing on the radar, anyone else in my area hearing this?

I will if I can as its very faint in the distance and its been about 10 minute since ive heard it.

Is it possible for it to thunder without any precipitation in the area?

Well I guess you could say that Scotland got similar storms like Eastern England on July 27th last year.

Except the strikes per minute weren't as high

Thunderstorm menu 2019

1. Dover

2. Outer Space

So there we have it, eastern Scotland is a part of outer space!

Torrential rain here now but no thunder as yet.

It's really built in the last ten minutes or so but I don't think it's going to amount to much

They've really just exploded. Such a shame that it didn't engage earlier this way

Just looking at the Northern North Sea right now is enough to make you feel sick!

About 170 strikes a minute  if only they were more inland for majority of UK, was expecting Northern England to get something similar to the North Sea today

Just been looking at lighting activity map from yesterday , to where it all ended up this morning , in the north east north sea,   England was robbed a spectaclular MCS

The storms started in the southern irish sea  , You would have thought the storms would have moved erratically north east from there , , but they seemed to want to avoid the bulk of england and wales with passion  , moving up in straight line , even with a slight north west veer,

its only when they reach the scottish borders they decided to move north east with vengance , thus avoiding england !  very annoying but quite expected  ,    why do storms just want to avoid our area,  it beyond a joke now

What’s the chance those storms heading right toward the south coast get shunted in a different direction - again...

If they're electrical they will.  A wet mess would be a direct hit

I'm really grieving today.

Storms didn't really materialise until out over the sea, Rafa Benitez is leaving my club, didn't win at Northumberland Plate and now my PC is acting up.
