How accurate are the metcheck reported temperatures? I don’t think they are all official stations are they?

there is a 34.5c showing at Epsom and 34c at Harrow currently.

Probably accurate and spot on. But they are not official so are not counted.

When was the last time that consecutive years reached 35C?

If you want to round up to the nearest degree, then both 2017 and 2018 got to 35c. Heathrow reached 34.5c on 21st June 2017. Also got to 35.3c in Kent last year.

Yes, in fact a few of these locations around West London regularly hit higher temps than the usual Heathrow/Northolt locations, another one is Hampton water works.

Thanks, but what about official 35C? I can’t  see any instances of that.

The rate of increase at Heathrow is now dropping slowly.

11z 30.1c

12z 31.6c

13z 32.7c

Probably a low 34c is where it’ll stop.

Bearing in mind between the 80s and 90s I think 35C was only reached in one year in 1990 (I think 1995 just missed), it's been quite a jump in recent years.

Reached 30C here now but the action is all to the north of me around London. 50/50 on 35C being reached I feel.

Indeed, maybe I'll be proven wrong but I think people are overestimating the rate of heating throughout the afternoon; a linear temperature increase with time is pretty unrealistic.

Conversely, this also means that temps can have sudden surges, even as late as 4.30 - 5.00.

On a day like this we wont hit max temps until around 17.00, the higher uppers are moving slowly towards the eastern side of London this afternoon so 35c still looking possible to me.

That's true, normally due to a change of wind direction. My point was that as the ground heats up it emits radiation more rapidly, so solar heating has to battle harder in order to maintain (on average) linear temperature increases.
