12.50pm reading it says. 32c so early in the afternoon raises confidence that we could hit 35c and push the June record. All eyes on Northolt and Heathrow which seem to be leading the way.

We need about 1c per hour now to beat it!

33c at 2pm
34c at 3pm
35c at 4pm
36c at 5pm

35.9c is the magic number. I think we will end up between 34-35c, let's see how it plays out...

I’m about 90% sure the June record will go, just. A chance of 36-37c

Realistically though, with the way that the temps are climbing, 38c is certainly possible.

1c an hour? Pffff. Easy peasy.

Will be a close run thing though. Temperatures normally peak at about 4pm, so as @mb018538 said above, we’d need a rise of 1c per hour.

What is noticeable today is how little breeze there is. Here in London at least it’s still and calm which is helping temperatures to rise.

With this setup...very hot uppers, wall to wall sunshine, and a light southerly. 1c an hour is ripe pickings. Easy.

Temps have been climbing 1 1/2 -2c an hour on average. And the surface is approaching it’s hottest now.

35.7 almost looks certain now, and maybe a vast underestimation.

Yes, it’s bliss. Can really feel the true temperature for a change.

Have a feeling I’m still in with an outside chance of this , it looks like surging past these values though currently , still for once I’ve predicted the temperature in Northolt one week out being closer than the GFS could at the same time last week  .

Im on that as well.

All eyes on the 2pm readings now from the Met Office.

I think 35c looks likely this afternoon maybe getting close to 36c in that West London zone.

Bang on 30*C here in Solihull. Don’t suspect it will beat what London (and/or other South-Eastern) areas are likely to experience lol! But still decent.

Think those of you who have guessed 32*C and over towards the South-East, look as though you could very well be close to the mark!

Lots of 31-32c now across London and Surrey on personal weather stations, a few believable 33c showing up as well now.

Personally we have reached 31c here, about 2c higher than expected, probably will reach 90f.

We desperately need some cloud cover now to just stall it around the mid 34's

Currently 32.7 at Heathrow and 31.1 at the nearest official station to me, at Reading University. At present I'm thinking a maximum at an official station somewhere around 35 later this afternoon.

Why would we want that?
