Good luck sleeping up north. That warm air doesn’t seem to want to let go!

I was bored at home in Haywards heath with the kids and mrs watching crap on TV,  to hot to do anything, so taken a drive down to bexhill, got on a cliff edge and watching a storm our a sea flashing away.

Where would be a good spot to go from here?

I've never tried chasing a storm before so not sure of where is good round here

I would head east, along the coast, maybe on top of fairlight cliffs, or jury's gap camber

Diddly squat. It’s just dying as it hits the UK, not that anything amongst it was heavy in the first place. Doesn’t seem like much is gonna happen.

Yep , oh well ? happens . Maybe next time

Warmest night for many a year. I seem to recall a couple like this in August 1997.

Pity you were not back in Bolton the other night, proper storm here and Manchester, can't think that Bolton would have been much different.

Coopying across from my post in the Convective thread...

That must be the longest display of lightning I've been able to enjoy (most of the time!)  initially, it was almost constant - around 70% CC or IC strikes but some intense (possibly +ve) CG strikes.  Heavy rain and gusty winds added to it.  It's still flashing around out there are I type, but, though there are more cells appearing in Normandy, I think that's nearly it for the first tranche.

Watched them many times great team especially in the Big Sam days.... My best mate's nan was married to Nat's brother, who was arguably a better footballer than Nat. Nat was a lovely man, I met him a couple of times and always had so much time to talk to people, even a Brighton fan when they were on the brink!!

Sorry to go OT but no storm here.....

A few strong gusts, few spots of rain, few rumbles and a super looking yellow sky for a time here in Boxley (Maidstone) earlier, but that was about it sadly.

it's still sooooo warm and sticky, like others have said seems much warmer than Tuesday night.

Not all over yet for us then Steve? Amazingly close earlier to something epic, I actually couldn't believe it.

Well, I just went outside and checked my weather station. 28.3c at nearly midnight. Truly astonishing.

Wouldn't be surprised if we record the highest nighttime minima ever tonight.
