Glad someone's with me - although there seems to be enough scope for them to build NNW, the overall movement seems NNE - and while I enjoyed a wonderful light-show in the early hours of Wednesday (plus the little bonus cell earlier), I would quite like a prolonged system to move overhead.

Fingers crossed I guess!

Fingers crossed indeed but it does look like a Kent/Suffolk/Norfolk clipper atm .

A bit more rain falling in Southend, but nothing dramatic so far....  the wind is incredibly warm...

Cheers

Little has happened in the last hour, if anything the dark foreboding skies have dissipated somewhat...the odd rumble over the North Sea and a freshening breeze.

Agree, coastal areas only. Worth a drive to the coast though unless it veers off sharply into the N Sea (and explodes into life!)

What the hell has happened!...wind has got up out of no where and a brief power cut! All the beefy storms look like they have developed on the east side of the rain i.e. North Sea (again)

So it was our carnival for this year (Deal Kent) , it kept with tradition and absolutely hammered down 2 mins in,

Here's a pic ten minutes before.

Starting to rain more persistently here, continuous rumbles of thunder to the east but no lightning.

The Gusts here must be because of the storm activity further east , I actually think I can see some convection from here , but it’s quite far in the distance.

Very windy warm as well

Love that pub, peddled out from home a few times had scrummy fish and chips and wobbled back. Definitely a good place to see moody stormy skies!
