Just forgot to update my place!...yes in St Neots for a wee while

Tom...where are you getting 37C...I have to be honest and say I think my readings are being affected by being in more urban part due to apartments and car parks.......wouldnt shock me lower temps with a bit of greenery

Fair enough, good to 'meet' a fellow St Neotan! I'm in Loves Farm next to fields so should have a lack of urban effect.

Now raining and back to 36.7c just like that,  what a weird day!!

Wow, I'm in Cambridge city centre and no signs of rain here at all.  Would love to know if Cambridge has broken the record somewhere maybe?!

Cloud cover likely holding back temps in the hottest parts of London now, but behind that the cloud does decrease again, and indeed my temperatures increased again. Likely going to have another shot at the all time record for the W.London area between 3-4pm I suspect, probably the last shot.

Edged down to 37.6c as some high cloud passed through the sun’s rays for about 3 or so mins... plus repositioning of my weather station to keep it out of the sun this afternoon.

Temp rocketing up again, back to 37.4 from 36.7 in 10mins, could be back in the game again, this is a crazy day, crazy week what with the smashing storms, this is more like it!!

Shame the cloud couldn’t have held back for just an extra two hours .

Theres big clump moving through London ,to the west a clearance likely to last around an hour .

Places like Lakenheath east of Cambridge might keep the sunshine for a few more hours . Last report there had 36c.

Cambridge is 37C as of 14.20. If the sun can hold out until 4pm the record is broken imo.
