Faversham showing 36.4oC currently. That's 0.3oC from the July record.

Epsom and a few others showing 36.2oC

It's only 31 here, but I'm happy with that, it's still far too hot for me.

Humidity down to 26% which seems low given the moisture that's associated with the excroaching fronts.

It's up to 52% here, dp at 21 though. Quite high for the UK.

It looks like there are some showers heading towards the south coast from France, they don’t seem super big at the moment but might catch sunbathers by surprise.

We need to all start sharing

#Je suis Cambridge !

As others have mentioned that area looks best placed to break the record .

Just been outside at work....its ridiculous..

At first you feel like its not too bad and then it hits you..from toe to head the heat and walking into the wind make sit feel worse.

Last time i felt heat like this was in 2007 in Athens 45C

It slowed here a little earlier but is steaming up again now at 36.7c, wish i had a Stevenson screen or something now as I think St Neots is going to be a close runner for 1st spot in the race at this rate!!  Incredible stuff.

Cloud looks a little thicker this time coming in from the south, suspect these cells aren't going to die now like the previous ones did. Will probably enter London region around 2.30 ish which will probably make London's max around that time as well. Afterwards attention I suspect starts to focus further north.

Also a slightly more obvious NNE motion now to the showers than earlier, which may spare the Heathrow area the worst of it.

I wonder what the chances are of multiple stations breaking the UK record. That in itself would be more interesting.

Yep as long as it can sneak through that gap then all to play for
