The Temperature is now falling on the sussex coast, not even 25c!

I’ve just scraped 26c where i am, however I can see high cloud coming in off the sea, it’s going to ruin it here in the coast I at least want to see 30c

Some ‘extreme’ thunderstorms possible later for our region

That's the chance of severe thunderstorms, which must mean the chance of any thunderstorm is much higher - looks good for heat and storm lovers

Same!

I reckon Tuesday will end up being the peak of the heat for us

29C here. Massive increase of 4C within the last 30mins.

For some reason RAF WIttering always lags behind other locations in E Anglia with regards to warming up. However this often catches up or even exceeds after lunchtime. Still think Cambridge is going to be the hotspot today with a temp of 39.5C.

28.6C here at 10 a.m....I've never seen it exceed 34C, during the seven years I've been living here...I think I just might do, today.:shok:

That's weird because the met office are forecasting 35 C right down on the coast in Brighton.

I hope they’re right, seems to be rising very slowly here, temps like that are almost unheard of on the coast

But you generally stay warm at night? I reckon cloud cover will hold the heat in for many of us till crash bang wallop arrives.

11am update.

Temp of 33c, humidity 39% in the shade.

Had some cloud pass through the area during the last hour/hour and a half blocking complete sunlight for about a total amass of 2/3 minutes. On course for record heat today but think it’ll be Cambridge/wittering/Heathrow or Northolt being the winner today as opposed to Cavendish or Writtle.

Gorgeous day on the coast, 25c, sticky, but bearable and nice.

An oven it is not! (yet)

Here’s an hour by hour temperature record of near Faverhsam when it broke the all time record in 2003. Nice to have for a comparison of today. It seems some places are in line if not slightly ahead of where they were at 11am.....

EDIT - I'm looking for the actual Faversham readings

If you keep sunshine till around 5pm then the record should go.

Maxs are likely to be around that time .

Still a chance also that 40c could be hit.

How about this for a coastal temperature in northern France , Dieppe 36c at midday .

33.1c at Heathrow 11 AM

Yep still heading upwards, nearly reached the hottest day of the year already at just 11am!

Still looks like a 39C will be recorded to me, might be some high level cloud moving into W.London around 1-2pm but its not going to last long and I don't think its going to make much of a long term dent in the temperatures.

Even if cloud scuppers Heathrow's chance, Cambridge is currently neck and neck, so hopefully any cloud would hold off longer there.
