It rained heavily for over half an hour.  The rain gave the garden a good drenching. Hopefully there will be more rain to come tomorrow as I have a crab apple tree to plant nearby the wayfaring tree.

It took a while but the sun came out this afternoon and temperatures reached 23c.

Tomorrow looks wet.

Looks like it will be very hot for a time next week, the highest temperature of year here is 32.0C I’d say very good chance of beating it next week not a fan of heat but I like the stats.. higher more interesting.

A series of fronts coming through our Region over the next 36 hours. Arpege the most bullish about precipitation amounts, suggesting around an inch for many over the period. A welcome top-up of water butts before the sunshine and heat of next week , although not so good for those who have an outdoor event planned for Saturday (although the worst should have cleared through by lunchtime, leaving scattered showers in the afternoon).

It's raining in South Ockendon since 11 am where it started as a very light drizzle and it has got a lot heavier since 11:40 am.?️?️

There should be some heavier rain moving through overnight in association with a cold front.

Tomorrow looks interesting with a cyclonic westerly pattern but with some very warm and humid air mixed in. The chance of some pretty nasty surface based storms which actually is something we haven't seen in a while (Most thunderstorms have come from plumes in the last few years).

Probably reaching 25C somewhere in the region tomorrow.

Sunday

The better day for dry weather, just a chance of a shower in the north of the region. There will be a fair stiff west to south west wind blowing throughout the day.

22-25C, possibly a little higher.

Next week - First half looks hot or very hot. The second half could be either thundery and warm or potentially record breaking heat, a lot of uncertainty here.

So the models are predicting some serious heat for at least a couple of days next week.

We've been here before though, just one month ago. Outrageous heat forecast, then we ended up getting only one day of heat.

Lets hope this time the models are correct and we get several days of heat, followed by a MCS rampage for the breakdown.

Very heavy rain and lightening. Just heard the first rumble of thunder. Seems odd that BBC app had storm symbols for last 48 hours but not a mention of it on the tv forecast!

Second rumble...

Lighting in both Dartford and Gravesend along with torrential rain will those apps be right with this continuing for the whole night?!
