41mm up to this morning. Persistent drizzle all has no doubt added another couple of mm. Could be worse, could be summer

We're on 45.98 mm, to be specific, with the June average for Norwich being 50 mm.

Another 0.51 mm since I typed that, and my original post was incorrect - 46.49 mm total now.

Just come back from Steve's part of the world, playing football indoors thankfully at Fawkham (the back of Brands Hatch). Torrential rain for an hour. Roads from Fawkham to Longfield like a stream. Longfield (just down the hill from New Ash Green) was flooded. That line of convection just South of the Thames has been there for about 2 hours.

Today looks Interesting for East Sussex, in terms of convective activity! We are currently under a small patch of a Heavy convective/dynamic rainfall mixture...

The first thing I do to check our convective potential is to compare the BBC graphics with the Met office forecast precip and see if they agree on anything. The are both way off each other today for the south east. BBC has rain to the north and showers breaking out this aft and evening whereas the Met office shows the more general area of rain further south with few convective showers.

There is nothing really tieing in currently... even the AROME which i just posted has the current rain moving North west all wrong.. so does the ERUO4 the top 2 are falling down this morning after I gave them praise!!!

Looking at the Radar 7 the rain is due to hit London quite soon but if you run on the Radar 8 it misses London completely.

Interesting to see something a bit more lively suddenly appearing just south of the main rain band on the last 2 or 3 radar returns. Looks just north east of Hastings over the past 20 minutes

Looks like much of the region is going to get a lot more rain today, looking at the radar. Some potent showers popping up to the S, too. Temperatures again way below average.
