Having not been out all day yesterday and not up to date with the sleet and snow reports, I was completely shocked this morning to see snow on roofs of houses that were still in the shade!

Woke in the night and looked out to see a covering on all but the pavements. Still mostly there this morning before the sun got on it. Not bad for mid April.

Hoping for some warmer weather this week!

Good to see them snow pics, I was watching them showers out in the N Sea last night, some looked pretty heavy but they were not moving much our way, then went to bed thinking it was a lost cause. Obviously some snow showers made it a fair way inland over night after all.

A lovely sunny morning, a blue sky with a scattering of thin white cumulus clouds.  The temperature is 7°C but with the wind it feels more like 4°C.  Wind speed is 13 miles per hour with gusts of 24 miles and it's coming from an E.S.E. direction.

Our first barbecue of the year is late this year, but I may have to pencil one in for Easter Sunday if the weather is as suggested. Minted lamb steaks at the ready.

I just wish this easterly feed would do one. 11 of the last 15 days have seen winds from a predominatley easterly direction here and dragged temperatures down despite the occasional sunshine in recent days.

Weather practically always seems to come in from the east (of varying degrees) in April of recent years...yes we've had a consistently chilly one from the north east the last week or so (but bear in mind the CET anomaly so far is slap bag on average, so cold? no) but looks like it's now switching to a fairly warm south easterly which by and large happened last year for a longer period with an anomaly of +2.3c and a ridiculous high of 29.1c at St James Park, London.

Welcome global warming...

Will it ever rain in the Peterborough area again? Very little over winter, no snow and very much less than normal rain, light rain a couple of Sundays ago did nothing to top things up

Rain has arrived in Wimbledon area , quite heavy as well I see from the radar that the precipitation has intensified but narrowed in the last few frames .

It is, but it’s also history in the making.

Another chapter.

Very true mate. Another chapter.

There has been some serious weeping and knashing of teeth over this. Actually doesn't look too bad to be honest.

Now 11c and sunny in SW London.

Lovely morning here in west London, looks like a fabulous spell of spring weather coming up. Going to a wedding in Scotland over the weekend so will miss the nicest weather but should still be ok there.

Must agree with some of the comments on here about Notre Dame. Yes, it’s a tragedy but most artefacts were saved. No lives were lost and the rebuilding of the cathedral will give future generations an even more breathtaking monument. I can’t help but think of Grenfell and former tenants still living in temporary accommodation. Or entire cities razed to the ground, like Aleppo. Or the fact that in our supposedly wealthy country, over 3 million live in poverty and rely on food banks. Shame the billionaires can’t splurge on them.
