No amber warning ⚠️ trains are running so it would seem nothing too untoward for our region ..!?

I suspect not. The squall just passed here. Rainfall rate up to 40mm per hour briefly, but strongest gust was only 30mph. It actually looks to have died down again.

Well that was boring. 120 seconds of quite intense rain, with hardly a breathe of wind. Colleague near Heathrow had hail and large gusts from this

Quite a drop in temps behind the surface cold front bringing the line squall heavy rain, reports of sleet in Bucks, probably some flakes already falling over the Chilterns.

Certainly feels colder following the sqaull line, which wasn't really all that, nothing compared to Sunday evening's one. Heavy rain now. 7.6mm so far today. Ground getting a good soaking Very soggy and muddy underfoot now. Ideal for spring planting next week. Sunshine and heavy showers over the next few days.

Current temperature 4.4 and dewpoint of 2. Very quick change of airmass following the squall. Still dull and drizzly here at the moment and fairly calm. Awaiting the stronger winds later...

Rainfall 8.2mm so far today, wet and miserable.

Clouds slowly lifting in Reading. Still total coverage but losing the dull-grey nimbostratus feel and becoming a bit lighter as cumulus clouds cross. I hope....
