That's good, my plants will get a good watering.

A lot of southern Britain will be glad to get some rain . Still hinting at gaps over eastern England.

I noticed a big shift westward on the tonight's GFS well big one for a small country. If this continues the south east and east will miss out. South east may get a bit more than expected tonight though. We shall see.

Yes, latest GFS has it heading up E Wales and W Midlands- wonder how much further west it will correct?

hopefully about 500 miles further west so we can tap into some serious heat and energy for storms instead!

ha ha, well not literally IN them!

Was planning a walk from Seathwaite up Great Gable and back. Can cope with the rain (within reason) but depends on murk and visibility. Not much point hiking up a mountain if you can't see the view from the top!

Met Office yellow warning for heavy showers following frontal bands. Friday afternoon and evening

"Whilst some places will escape them, some heavy showers will break out during Friday afternoon and evening. Some of these showers will be quite prolonged, with a chance of occasional thunder. A few places may see 20 mm rain falling within an hour and some spots may receive around 30 mm rain in a couple of hours. Following a spell of rain earlier in the day, this may lead to spray and surface water flooding on some roads."

Good Morning everyone.

A little drizzle at about 09.30 but has brightened up again in mid Essex. When is the rain due to arrive or will we miss out? To my untrained eye it is not clear if the trajectory of the system will give us much rain or if it will be confined to west of here. Perhaps we will just end up with a windy couple of days. Hopefully it will not affect the Trooping of the Colour flypast as the aircraft fly right over our house and we look forward to this every year.

Kind Regards

Dave

The system is weakening on the eastern side so they could be still waiting for some major rain after today. Plenty of time for this to change though.

I think this naming of storms has to go. Certainly not stormy here today. I wonder what they would call the rain storm in 2007. Armageddon End of the world storm 2 prepare to meet thy doom?
