A very warm max of 24.0 C earlier on. Dropped to 22.5 C now under extensive cloud. Will wait and see if we end up getting any rain overnight. Most looks like passing east of here.

Interestingly for Friday both local forecasts here were quite far apart with temperatures. BBC South Today said 26°C max while ITV Meridian said 30°C. So that’s about as useful as the models then.

So we gonna see any storms here in west country tonight or we going to miss out completely?

Already a couple of tiny cells poping up around swindon area.

I am hopeful here but may have to get in the car and go down the M4/M25 but will see where they head, could come more West if we're lucky, fingers crossed!!!

Hoping so against all the lack of warnings and various convective forecasts showing not a lot for our part of the world tonight. The weather doesn’t always go according to the forecast so let’s see.

Looking at the radar things starting to kick off over in France. Plenty of expectation and excitement building over in the Storms and Convection thread.

Fairly sure on being too far West tonight, added to which the lower clouds are moving W-E which places us to the W of the front. Pimply rain of the warm variety at the moment.

Light rain here on and off for a while now. Not even enough to wet the ground but some big rain drops at times. 15.3°C

Interesting dusk rainbow this evening. Not sure I've seen one after the sun has set before. Taken in Beesands.

Looks like us in the central belt, might still be in with a chance!

I have everything ready just in case, what are other people's thoughts? I'm a in full hope mode? Probably

The initial area of interest seems to be heading East of Southhampton, quite sparky too, and very heavy rain... waiting for the kickoff here... not for hours yet, perhaps.

For anyone in Hampshire and Eastern Dorset, worth keeping an eye on developments south of the IOW. Quite an active area. No lightning at present.
