Does that map show a swathe of 80 - 89mph along the South coast?

It beats me as to why an amber warning hasn't been issued for the immediate coasts? Or it being named!

Hoping for some new wind speed records on my station, tomorrow. I would normally head down Dancing ledge or somewhere similar, but I don't fancy getting up mega early.

Certainly looks that way on these.

I agree their naming of storms are very inconsistent I believe this warrants a name it's a busy weekend worse during the rush hour with leafs still on some trees and wet ground in places I don't get it I think it should be binned or they need to actually be consistent.

Scanning the predicted wind gusts on met office app for tomorrow constantine bay in Cornwall looks to have the highest gusts of 78mph. Tasty.

And it actually will be windy. I can remember them (or the Irish met) naming a few 'storms' that have only resulted in gusts below 40mph here, and not much higher where the winds were strongest.

Wind gusts being recorded by my station at the moment are on par with the forecast, so it should be fun to see what I get tomorrow morning. I know many don't like these sorts of conditions due to damage that may occur, but I cannot help but get slightly excited as it's a weather condition that I enjoy experiencing, especially if I head down to an exposed coastal location.

After a cloudy day with light rain for a lot of the afternoon, there's been a few heavy showers here this evening ahead of whatever tomorrow brings. Reached 14.8°C, currently 13.8°C

Just had a sharp shower here and the wind ramped up fast. 35mph gust. Temp dropped significantly as well.

The winds just suddenly increased quite a bit here too although it’s not raining.

That's where we are now. Haven't slept much due to the wind and the tastiest bit hasn't hit yet.

Got to get down to Padstow for the Rugby in a bit.

Just now, lettice said:

Wind has just picked up here in last hour with a handful of 37-40mph gusts.

Shouldn't be long until it ramps up more for you, lettice.

Recorded a gust of 47mph on both my stations.

Just recorded 53mph. That equals my station record. Very impressive for here.

New station record! 28mph 10 minute average.
