13.3c max today .

Quite an interesting radar this evening, scattered downpours popping up and heading NNE very similar to the hot evening of Tuesday 22nd July.

Some quite heavy showers beginning to show up over the new forest area pushing north, almost looks like the sort of showers you would see during a plume event as Andy describes!

Currently 9.7°C

Hopefully the last rainy day for a while now. Had the Environment Agency voicemail/email last night about the rising
groundwater levels over on Cranbourne Chase and sure enough, the closest field to us was starting to puddle up this morning.

Had to chuckle earlier. Bought a chicken breast for the OH's tea on my walk to Downton earlier. Got home and couldn't find it.
Called the butcher, who said that he saw me put it in my bag.

At 9:30am, there's a knock at the door (we're 1.5 miles from the Butchers) and a lady from Downton had found it in the field a mile away; assumed it was mine and walked up with her dog to return it. A bit muddy, but it was bagged up. ?️

It's here.....no not December... blue sky. After a dull and dismal morning and the recent spell of rain, there is a good expanse of blue sky to be had..Temp 11.0°C

Wet for most of the day so far but dry at the moment and even the sun came out for a while not long ago. Some dark clouds nearby so it possibly some more rain to come. 11.3°C

A blizzard in 1978 caused all sorts of problems for locals and one Yeovil resident remembers it well

Anyone got any memories of this February 1978 snow storm... Looked into it and most places in South Somerset got over a foot of level snow according to met office

Would recommend watching the video as it shows Snowfall we seek endlessly

Well sure is lonely in here, the only person to post in the SW thread in 12 hours, that's a first for this time of year...summer often but now.

Just holding it together until the weather returns and this thread goes crazy....
