Yes, a pretty wild night down in the South Hams too. Some torrential bursts of rain and really strong winds for few minutes, think roughly between 2 and 3am. Don't quote me though, wasn't really awake.

I only noticed one flash of lightning, Blitzortung historical maps seem to back up the fact there wasn't that much going on, beyond the heavy rain and gusty winds.

Not much fun for the many campers round here I don't suppose!

Not much shows up on the lightning detector but I got woken up in the Exeter area at 3:10am by strong winds, torrential rain and three flashes of lightning.

We had 1mm of rain this morning between 4am and 8am
Expect will get some more tonight, so no watering today.
Been very busy using the hose since Monday.

18.9c was the low just after midnight.
Now 20.4c, 12-14mph SSW wind.

Forecasts have us down for 40-47mph wind gusts from 8pm tonight to 5pm Saturday.
Some thunder showing early evening with some rain showers, but not seeing any heavy ones.

Have only recorded 0.1mm of rain here overnight, so checked the rain gauge... spider has decided to move in so an invalid result. Luckily I have a manual gauge that reported just 0.9mm here, so still very little.

Currently 23.0°C and feeling humid, even in the breeze.

Overnight low of 16.4°C at midnight..

Quite blustery out there although there’s still the occassional hazy sunny spell. Still feeling humid.

20.2°C RH 81%

A low of 17.9°C. Windy with sunny spells, but feeling warm. Temp reached 21.3°C. Nothing interesting showing on the charts, t-storm wise. Forecast mirrors that. Rain warnings are pointless for most of our region.

Not much in the way of rain last night and this morning. Mostly dry so far today but did have a brief shower not long ago. 20.3°C

Windy with hazy sun. We had a light shower about an hour ago but that's about it, the ground is already dry again.

20.5C

Strong winds haven't arrived yet, despite the Met showing 40mph gusts with a wind speed of 19mph. Only just managed the first 30mph gust.

ha - just as I posted that, it picked up.

Lol re spider Dean!

11mm overnight here and blustery showers now after a bright/humid morning.

Yeah found three hidden under the rain cup inside the sensor. Re-homed them and then blasted it with some silicone spray, hopefully that will hold for a month or so!

The MetO wind forecast is not matching the current observations, by a long way. Either they are delayed, or it's not going to be as windy.

Not as windy here either, current speed is 8.1 mph, gusting to 12 mph.

Feeling warm in the sunshine though, currently 24.6°C with sunny skies.

It'll be interesting to see what the Ecowitt anemometer records tonight/tomorrow. I've had 29.8mph on it so far (at 5m) The Davis is around 10m and that's recorded 33mph.

Wind has dropped now after the earlier gusty spell.
Down to 14-16mph with a few 20-25mph gusts

Just having some pretty heavy rain showers now after a half hour of drizzle.

38.7mph on the Ecowitt and 39mph on the Davis - at exactly the same time. Strange considering how far apart they are.
