Just nudged above 33c, wind is like a hairdryer! Interesting watching the mid level convection passing overhead and to the East while it’s largely clear blue sky to the West.

31.7°c here currently, needs another 1.3  to beat the July record set in 2016.

33.9°C now and it is certainly the hottest it has felt in a long time.

Staverton Airport, Gloucs, 34C. That's 4C higher than the GFS forecast 06z.

It really ‘feels’ incredibly hot, the humidity along with the super high temps are getting on for the hottest I’ve ever experienced in the UK.

Incredible heat.

Agree. The wind is a very disappointing 'cooler'. Very odd to feel such a hot breeze. The shade is no respite. Bring on some electricity!

You can see the really high temps clipping into the east/north east of the region on the 2pm temps. Heathrow at 37c :0

My bedroom is up to 30.2°C and the heat hasn't even started radiating through the walls and loft as it does after about 6pm, so phew!

Gosh, Cheese.. I have the same problem.. not at home yet but later it will be scorchio. Luckily, I have a portable air con unit ... but its too noisy to use late at night .. so I want a storm and a cool off asap. ?️

The cell just leaving France could make Sussex and Kent interesting later...

Hottest I've known...and humidity not an issue here. Yet. But I've never known such a hot breeze in the UK

Luckily mine's the other way round. After 3 it's in the shade so I  can usually open the windows and pop the fan on after that.  Not sure it'll bring much relief today tho!

Look at the convection over France forming rapidly and heading for Southwest UK Devon Somerset bath northeast Somerset too is where it appears to be heading . How much it will depend before it arrives or indeed fizzles out is beyond me but currently something brewing down there. Almost like a southerly streamer.

It's coming in to view now on the radar just clipping the west Channel Islands .

Big fat drops falling at the moment from the cell South of Salisbury. Got quite heavy for a couple of minutes.
