Hate this humid type of heat.

Hopefully we'll return to the 20-25c range and drier heat of back end June/1st 2 weeks of July v soon.

It is unpleasant, I put a fence today... However! If we actually get a decent storm all will be forgiven...

Last time when the storms went way to the east there were loads of false lightning reports further west of where it actually was.

A sticky sleep tonight it seems, my room is up to 28.6°C and rising as the heat radiates back through the walls and loft as it usually does. Interesting insulation this house has; frigid in the winter, too warm in the summer!

It's cooler outside at 27.1°C

Conditions elsewhere in the region must be bad? It's not bad here. 25°C and 62% RH is ok for me. PM2.5 is low too.

Just spoken to a neighbour who was in Chard around 4.30 and they had a couple of rumbles of thunder and a light shower.  Cleared as quickly as it came.

Still 25.5°C here, variable cloud but nowt in the Channel to get excited about.

33.1c tops, the highest since 19th July 2016.

26.7c now, hottest at this time of day since goodness knows when. On 29th June after 32.9c we were down into the teens by now post cold front.

Clouds aren't all that inspiring here. Looking for Ac or anything interesting but seeing Stratus at the moment. Nice Sunset colour sky though.

Seems fairly quiet at the moment .

The precipitation coming out of bay of biscay into the channel seems too far west at the moment .  Maybe if that then tracks Eastwood that will help kick things off .  We know how fast cells can pop out of nowhere so plenty of time .

Seen it before, little speckles on the radar very quickly mushrooming into something a bit tasty.

I was tracking these beefy showers but looks like they are moving North/north east...

Go and stand outside looking South. I was literally going inside and there was a flash over my shoulder.

I've come back out and it's pretty constant.

@jtay Actually can see it perfectly from my bedroom window! Trying to get a video but camera isn't the best. I'm sure when it gets nearer I'll get the opportunity.

Not a fan of the oppressive weather but MO app keeps teasing me with lightning symbols so may stay awake for a few more hrs to see if we get anything. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE a good thunderstorm & but feel like a terrible parent wishing for one as our eldest son is due to land at Birmingham airport in the very early hrs & obviously want him to have a safe flight.
