Not in warning area. But it is warming up with dark clouds forming.

Apart from a few isloated Sferics over in Sussex there hasn't been enough heating to get convection really going. We are going to up with a big mushy convective mess by the looks of it.

Yeah just need a litle more surface heating to get them going.

Update: Thunder heard here, the shower over Portsmouth is now thundery. Very dark skies here now.

Yes, I can confirm thunder here in Portsmouth (just one clap).

Rainfall intensity hit 58mm/hr a short while ago.

It was a tasty one!

Looks like some of our region might get a washout again later if it comes right over...

Yeah looks like you got the shower at its peak, looking at the radar. Really does seem a day of weak 'popcorn' convection, rather than organised showers/storms as that system is no longer electric. Very difficult day for forecasters, I bet!

Clear to see that the convergence line is currently sat between Southampton and Coastal Kent. Get some clearance of this and a little sunshine for heating, the sea breeze may kick in for this evening to promote some move interesting developments. After around 8/9pm a small surface low develops over the midlands which will kill the convergence line then. One to watch.

3.8mm in 10 minutes from that rain. Dry again now but looks dark all around.

A mere 1.4 mm of it here, never more than moderate intensity (in the west of the borough) and we may have escaped the worst of today.

Chilly 13.3 at the moment though, and now dry/overcast - this morning's max of 17.9 doesn't really tell the story.

Total from those first line of showers was 14.8mm, appears to have been very localised as the showers have now lost there intensity.

Temp currenlty 13.1°C, winds now NE at 3mph.

Raining here again, not heavy but definitely heavier than the several hours of drizzle we had yesterday. Radar looks depressing, looks like an all-nighter in coming here at least.

Not posted in a while, but we had a bit of thunder and lightning rumbling past us on Monday associated with this:

2045420478_10thJuneTS.thumb.jpg.b29eabbb024054bbe7309671fdf4f2af.jpg609441448_10thJuneTS2.thumb.jpg.92765b64a3defae54dae1c7acda914b3.jpg317231203_TS10thJune4.thumb.jpg.c6341a8910b583581f67297ce026d508.jpg

It then flared up to the west as well in a line that looked impressive on radar. Close enough to hear some distant thunder, but it didn't look that visually impressive from this location.

So far we've had 47.5mm this month. 22mm from Monday overnight into Tuesday. We're one of the driest locations around here though as all the convective downpours have avoided here. A weather station in the hills between Exeter and Dartmoor recorded over 50mm from downpours on Monday, with 131mm for the month so far.

It missed you today, we were perfectly positioned for some decent rainfall, and it is still raining, so far 5.8mm 7.4mm with 2mm in the last hour, not that heavy just slow and progressive as the area of rain only slowly moves westwards..This little puppy has been sat over us for the last two hours or so...

Made it to 16.7°C today. I got the notification of a warning for thunderstorms while out putting up a new fence, thankfully nothing arrived other than a light shower.

31mm since 12.30 Monday. This latest lot of rain looks worse than the last few days for us here. Gloucester on flood alert now and can only get worse with all the run off coming down from the catchment area, things could escalate rapidly.

Persistent very light rain for the last few hours. Barely got up to 1mm. This follows a predominantly grey but brighter day than yesterday. Felt warmer too despite not reaching 16C lol.

Nice drop of rain this morning, left home in light rain, drove through heavy rain, to arrive in the office with a clear view out over the channel and some blue skies. All of which has gone down hill as I watched the passing band of rain from the west as it sped over Bmth, and now we are under the more light and general rain. Currently 11.9°C with a RH of 96%..

Day 2 of relentless grey skies with a cool wind off the sea. Haven't risen above 16°C over these days, which I know is pretty respectable compared to some places!

Currently 13.7°C after a low of 11.5°C overnight 0.6mm of rain currently, with the light rain still falling.

Glad to see some gradual improvements coming over the next few days, not a fan of stalled Lows at anytime of the year, let alone the summer months!
