Can we please please please stop the guilt tripping in regards to peoples weather preferences! All weather types can be dangerous to human life... All of them! The needless little digs serve nothing, and are never going to change the weather which, NOBODY has any control over.

I agree entirely - but the same people who guilt tripped heat lovers last year are now looking forward to weather that will also cause misery. They know who they are.

I’m just pointing out the hypocrisy is all. People can like whatever kind of weather they want but next time we get a hot summer I expect them not to guilt trip those of us who enjoy it, because I’ll just turn around and say they’re okay with homes being flooded and people being evacuated just so they can look at green grass.

Clouds and sun today; breezy but temps of around 22c in BS34. Summer has been decent here, bar the 1st 3 weeks of June. Yes, we've had a few odd days of rain. If you add in a couple of weeks in mid-May, as well, which was warm and sunny, it has been pretty good.

Doesnt look great for end of this week, but hey it is August. One noticeable aspect of late June and July was the balmy late evenings; we havent had many chilly nights. Our daytime temps have varied between 22c and 26c; very acceptable.

After some rain this morning it’s turned into a warm, sunny summers day here in London. Currently 25c.

Wet overnight but the forecast warmth didn't happen.  I had to put on a hoodie before the bike ride to my hospital outpatient appointment.  What has been a recurrent feature of previous Augusts are the clear nights with cloud bubbling up during the morning which melts away towards evening. Felt chilly outdoors this evening, definitely not BBQ weather.

A pretty uninspiring morning all told, occasion glimpses of sun but mostly dull and cloudy. Not bothered about being stuck in the office today that is for sure and weekend is looking somewhat disappointing as well, hello August!!

14C minimum last night.  Currently around 20C which is bit substandard for early August and there's a strong breeze that will result in some windchill. Spells of cloud at the moment.  Feels like early Autumn.

It's another nice day here with long spells of sunshine, a temp of 23.2C and a nice breeze. The humidity is only 50% too so its pretty much perfect summer weather.

Thursday looks grim though.

poor summer continues here...another deluge late yesterday and overnight..don't think we have had more than a 2 day run of dry weather since the end of May...looks like the prospect of not reaching 30c during the summer months is a real possibility now also.

Pretty much the same here. Currently 20.5C and moderate South-Westerly breeze, mostly cloudy with occasional sunny intervals. Had a couple of showers as well. Mild night last night at 13.8C. Typical August weather really. It's all downhill from here.

Where are you? My area does not get the best weather but I managed 33C on Thu 25th July and 29C on Tuesday 23rd July. Other than 1st half of June it's not been too bad, it's been generally around 19-22C through July which is quite warm for here. Just the odd rainy 16C day here and there. Not had too  rain since June either and some of that was from thunderstorms during the late July heatwave.

It's been a lot better than Summers 2016 and 2017, that's for sure.

It certainly feels like the peak of summer is long gone now, especially with the unsettled outlook on the cards. Not complaining too much though, I'll take anything over the heat we had the other week.

Can you order some sunny weather for when we come to Calgary for a week in 12 days time ?

Another nice day here in London after a warm, sunny afternoon yesterday.

Sunny spells all day today, no showers at all yet. 24/25c the high again.

Friday looks grim though.

Been great today. Not overly warm, fresh invigorating breeze, some sun, got plenty done outside without sweating. Perfect late Summer's day. What's not to like? Good outlook going forward as well & away from the south east should ensure any proper heat gets put back until maybe next year.

Plymouth Pride Saturday on The Hoe.

Last year it was washed out on the same weekend.

Those drag queens best get some strong hair grips and waterproof mascara this year!!

whats not to like?.... well its hardly bbq weather is it! nor is it warm enough to sit outside to eat/drink, hardly what id expect from a decent summers day.  good for working in though if youve avoided the showers..

Surprisingly very warm start to August with only two days of measurable rain here. Today stayed dry and pleasant until late afternoon so another good day really.

Certainly warm enough to sit out side and have drink and people were having Barbies on the 4th. T shirt weather Saturday night as well.

Depends on ones preference. It's been 20C here today & in the sun it felt pleasant enough. Hardly the end of the world to me.

Come of it m, unless the weather in Derby is very different from up the M! in Doncaster, breezy and dry with spells of warm sunshine this morning and well into the afternoon before the showers/storms clipped this area, a maximum of 24.4 C in my garden!

Today hasn’t been too bad, temperatures approaching the mid twenties and some lively showers, plenty of sunshine in between and of course some would have stayed dry. Could be a lot worse and if it is to rain then showers are a lot better than non stop frontal rain.
