Teddington, Bushy Park (SW London),  29.2C at 9am.

I'm using the WQRadar map, but I pay an annual subscription so don't know what non-subscribers can see: https://weatherquest.co.uk/RadarV5/

(The benefit of that site is you can get the maxes/mins for all MetO stations, including the maxes/mins for stations starting '99' which aren't available by the MetO free of charge.)

Aye Malcolm -- I tend to think that in order to 'chase' something, it has to actually be somewhere: you can chase a football; you can chase a rabbit; you can even chase a thunderstorm...But how can you chase something in which all you have to do is sit by your laptop and wait?

But, be that as it may, the exercise is still 'fun'...How many of us would be reading this thread, if it were not?

Doesn't surprise me, Heathrow was at 28.8c at 8.50am so that fits quite nicely with that observation. Going to have several stations above 30c by 10am. July 2015 was exceptional for getting to around 34 in Heathrow by 11am, but then quite a decent area of mid level cloud came over and dropped temperatures to 31C. I think even if there are  showers that come over,, I don't think its going to have such a dramtic impact.

I love your posts! They are very informative, and are never biased- Just straight facts and analysis; I hope you continue to post! I, for one, am always very interested in your opinions, as you usually back up your analysis with factual, clear explanations.

Is the front of rain/showers over france surpressing the temperatures there does anyone know?

At the moment I don;t think the system is really large enough to cause anything more than a local short term disruption to the temperatures. Of course it it expands decently, especially to its east, it could cause more problems, but at the moment I'd guess you'd have maybe an hour at most of cloud before your back in blazing sunshine.

Well they said Norwich was top temp yesterday at 33c so take Netweather temp gauge with a pinch of salt.

Its 100% accurate, its the 9.20 temperature at Heathrow, though I don't know the exact temperature, whether its a legit 30, or a rounded up 30C (aka something like 29.6c, etc).

Temps in that area are 30-32 C, so same or even higher than here and we have full sun

What I was thinking was if that area of rain showers whatever it is lowered the temp in France would that lower the temp in the air blowing on the keen southerly wind. I never know with these radars sometimes they show rain and it isn't actually raining

30c at 9:30 is truly exepctional. With 6 hours of warming to go, and providing the cloud stays away, I think 39c will be breached, nearing 40c.

Despite many models and posters on here going for Cambridge/SE etc as the hot spot, I certianly think the one to look at is Heathrow.

No, it's on the free 'Live' feed.
