Well the "cold" front this afternoon barely made a dent, as it ended up at 34C. I nearly melted on the bus earlier (the newer ones have air-conditioning but this time they decided to wheel out a retro model instead - you could have easily filmed a remake of The Sweeney on it).

It's still warm now (26C) but the humidity level has fallen through the floor. The dew point was about 20C earlier on; now it's about 3-4C!

"Only" 28C tomorrow.

I don’t know why people keep hyping up this so called heatwave. It’s not going to be record breaking.

2018 was better than this, even if we manage a hotter June day come Saturday.

Consistency is what makes a good summer, not just several days of record breaking heat and cloudy warm periods that seem to last for several weeks in a poor summer.

Good point. We had a couple of record breaking hot days in Summer 2015 if I remember rightly, (wasn't this when Heathrow was supposed to have recorded its highest ever temp) but few would class that as a brilliant Summer overall.

I'd still rather have a couple of really hot days in a overall poor Summer than none whatsoever though if I'm honest. Not that we can make a full analysis until the end of August. Maybe then will deliver the goods this year.

I understand the frustration though as say in the final days in December if we haven't had much in the way of cold and snowy weather by then, with little of it seeming likely any time soon, most of us Winter coldies start to lose our optimism, even if some of us like to pretend we don't ☺️.

Really quite warm in the sun and the car today. Sat in the garden now in a woolly jumper in that delightful biting northerly wind. Lovely.

I went out for the day to the most perfect city in England (in my opinion) but in the evening when I got back, I noticed the temperature in my apartment was only 18°C. Not so good eh.

Feels a little juicy outside, sun feels very strong. First morning it’s actually felt like summer. I will enjoy today and tomorrow as that looks like it for the foreseeable future.

Just to remind you we don't live in the Mediterranean...and to feel like summer it doesn't have to be 25c+ temperatures

These people are annoying! First words are, "The intense heatwave is set to continue ..." . Rubbish! I'm fairly central for the UK and I've yet to reach average this week! I'm not even sure I'll get there today. It's currently 17.9C in a brisk easterly which I'm slightly sheltered from. It's a 2nd lovely day but a heatwave is 5 days of 5C+ above average. It's been cooler than average this week and only turned sunny yesterday!

Historic day across much of Southern France, a lot of all-time records tumbling.

Just to remind you, we're all different and summer to me feels like anywhere in the range of 24-32. I don't know why you feel the need to keep quoting me to force your opinion/preferred tastes on me, but unfortunately it's having very little effect - I STILL don't like benign cool temperatures and I STILL think this summer has been poor. Now move on.

still cold and wet over here..looking at the models no prospect of any warm dry weather right out to the end which takes us to mid July..no days forecast to be above 20c in the next 10.
