Still a long way to go in a complex set up like this. Just thought i'd relay some information.

15Z will be out in a bit, so i'll have a look then. Time for some dinner before all the 'bust' posts start appearing. lol

I just thought I'd have a gander at the latest BBC forecast (is mention of the BBC still allowed?)...and there are no storms expected until after midnight...Let's wait until after storms have failed to materialise before calling a bust...?:shok:

I've been looking at various models today, and I think the 12z have pushed possible action  once again into the far SE, whereas the 6z showed wider action maybe?  ARPEGE has the instability here:

But I still sense from the comments in here that quite a lot of uncertainty exists with this one.

I think a storm might be developing in the mid levels over my house.

Its definitely more humid out there now. Not the boiling sauna some would have you believe but certainly feels muggy. Still raining lightly here though.

The Caen cells look like Kent clippers at the mo, but steering flow, I believe will back to a more SSW-NNE flow as the night progresses as opposed to the current WSW-ENE flow

The odd strike in the Bay of Biscay is good to see too, though. No good to you, but I have great memories of Caen storms - try finishing your meal when the restaurant roof collapses on it due to the weight of rain and hail - and it was sunny with blue skies when we sat down!

The question remains, Caen the storms make it to the south coast.... dad joke

Still dark and moderate/heavy rainfall here however, looks a bit soggy for tonight's Metallica gig down at the Etihad.

Or you could say, 'this day is going to be pretty lit'

Seriously wow - that French cell is exploding into life - then it eats the energy at mid-levels across the channel and presumably maintains its energy once it reaches the UK?

Is this the idea?

If it is then we really will see some fireworks in a few hours

Food and drink always tastes better a) when camping b) after a long walk/run c) when all three are combined with rumbles in the distance. Forget the hail and downpours - they sog your plate and dilute your beer/wine!
