Something happening by you?

It’s taking a long time but we’re getting there.

Quite infrequent IC lightning to be fair, but let’s see how these land-based cells pick up

Have you seen the cell just infront of Hastings, an amazing structure and fluctuation of pulses of lightning, potential to be a super cell?

I can see the flashes in the distance. The rain is really making things difficult

My god that thunder is unusual... Loud, but it almost sounds like someone is bending metal back and forth (If you know what I mean).

Hopefully this is starting to kick of we've had 3 lots of lightning and thunder in the last 5 min here on sheppey and the rain is getting heavier now

YIKES! Huge flash, followed by instantaneous gunshot thunder!! Didn't even sound elevated! That's one way of sleep prevention!

Not the best storm for lightning viewing, but a lot of it is being masked by the low cloud, mist and rain. However, this thunder is really making up for it!

Finally a flash of lightning which has lit up some structure, and wow! A huge pronounced shelf cloud just out to sea - will likely bring some fairly gusty winds with it

Welp I can confirm arrival in Essex. I thought it was just rain before I heard what sounded like an explosion out of nowhere that nearly sent me through the roof

There is an isolated thunderstorm in Essex I think

Well, we might not be getting any thunderstorms here in Brum, but at least it's just started raining, so I'm hoping my hayfever will abate a bit!

I was so excited about That Hatched Area. However. That Hatched Area appears to have been a storm shield.

Can't even get any decent rain.

And I still daren't sleep in case I miss something!

Regards. Mizzle. (Sulking). NE Hants.

Quite a nice storm over Hastings just now. Some nice bolts out to sea but lightning died somewhat as it got within a mile. Still close enough though. Very heavy rain and gusty winds too.

Still seeing occasional flashes out to sea.

EDIT. There are more storms incoming. I made the right choice to come here.

Some occasional deep rumbling thunder over the channel in the last half hour. The odd flash of CC lightning too.

There will be a post mortem on this one, given nearly all of the warnings from different respected agencies have called for a much greater frequency of lightning and problems arising from severe thunderstorms, the trigger just hasn't been there in the South.Perhaps it will start to fire further North?
