About to set off to Worthing at first and see what happens, good luck everyone!

I'm at George the 5th avenue, at the beach under the shelter!

It was hitting 140 strikes per min and it lost intensity in this regard and was peaking at 115 per min for a while and now hovering around 85 per min. I've seen French imports that have usually hit Kent only over the years that have had 3, 400 strikes per min at some points.

Oh down to 65 strikes per min now. What's happening?!

Wish I knew. Maybe the storm will regenerate (thunder and lightning wise) after it crosses the channel and reaches the South coast, perhaps with some new areas forming! ?‍♂️

YESSS IT WILL HIT WOO

What I’m seeing on blitzortung however is an increasingly NE steer on those storms, very similar to last Tuesday. It looks to me like Brighton/Eastbourne will be in the bullseye (based on current trajectory - some of you may disagree). This image best captures my thoughts on this - that’s not to say steering winds could force it back N.

I’m going to be boring and try to sleep now, setting an alarm for 1:30. Even though I’m going to miss much hype and excitement here.

It doesn't seem to like the water.

I remember the Bournemouth Storm in 2015 had over 350/min at one point

Should do, it's all rather elevated so should cross the channel without issue, it's not one of those events where everything goes bang over France and dies as it crosses the channel.

..hopefully.

In fairness I did say hopefully, so if it does completely vanish now I'm not taking responsibility for jinxing it

Most I've seen hitting the UK was 500 strikes a minute and that was around end of May 2017 which wasn't in the forecast I believe

I cannot get a picture off that site. Never have been able to. The cam screen remains blank, and no clue as to why.

Ah, I remember that one, mental strike rate! I never saw it but I remember staying up and feeling envious at the lucky sods south and west of the New Forest!
