I'm sat here nursing a busted front tooth, face swollen up like a balloon. Bloody KFC! Looks like my plans for a chase are off tonight, will have to window watch

Sferics have risen quite significantly south of Caen in France. I'm hopeful in The Hatch.

Meanwhile, Stormhog, what happened to you? I know KFC food can be a bit tough but....

Looking good for the main risk area based on the first preliminary cells, good northwards movement in the last 30 minutes or so with strikes almost every second!

It's gone very dark to my southeast all of a sudden.

As for developments around northwest France, I think like last week, we need to be wary of possible false returns from outside the main area of storms.

I think I'm going to head south near the coast and see what happens, hmmm I think Brighton with a view to moving north or east may be a good starting point, fingers crossed.

That line goes right through our house. (Wondered what the black streak in the sky above was).

Looking good - let's hope your prediction works and we don't get a mid-channel right turn into a Kent Clipper. Again.

Being to the east of London I'm not likely to see much unfortunately, but you lucky chaps further west should be in for quite some light show...... jammy sods!

Those showery pieces, including that intense looking stormy area to the West of Caen over Northern France, do certainly seem to be moving quickly. Quite surprised. In fact, looks as though the Northern tip of that storm is about to enter the channel.

I’m parked up near Hayward’s heath. Kind of had ashdown forest in mind but still not sure where I’ll get the best view

I'm parked in Croydon after finishing work.  As I've no idea whether this MCs is an evening thing or an early hours thing.. should I really be driving south now?!

I wonder if it's moving quick or simply expanding rapidly?

Looking at that clump of storms im not sure if id be overly excited tonight. Unless they gain intensity over the channel, doesnt look anything out of the ordinary

Tooth must have been rotten and I didn't know it, snapped off at the gumline with barely a crack. Now I look like a proper redneck. Hurts all to hell. Done up on Solpadeine and will have to see how the night progresses. Difficult to focus on storms with the pain. What an absolute bummer.
Good luck for everyone chasing tonight, I hope to at least get out the front door and snap some lightning from the street.

A bit of both I guess. Does seem to have grown somewhat over the last few radar frames!

Gonna head off to bed now, setting the alarms for around 2:30 so I get a possibility of seeing some distant lightning before the storm arrives.

Good luck to everyone and the ones chasing!

Hirlam is going for the west route as posted earlier, going to be fascinating watching this one pan out.
